My Dad has only ONE Chemo left!!

Today is Monday, July 21st and Mike and I just celebrated 23 years yesterday. I can not belive it. I should still be 26. Whoop!! Taylor just returned from Camp Bandina and had an awesome week. Shelby also just returned from Camp Summitt. It is in Grapevine and she made some wonderful new friends. Kendall has been gone almost one month visiting her cousins and friends. I really miss her. Tonight we will all be together at the "AREA WIDE" devo. I remember as a teenager, we would never miss the area wide devos. Taylor and her daddy leave on Friday for "Trek". They are headed to Colorado to hike a 14er. There are about 28 people from our church/youth group going.

My dad will finish his chemo this next week. We are hoping his numbers are all good and he will be able to have a body scan/pett scan in 6 to 9 weeks. We are continuing to pray for the complete healing and strength for our daddy. He has been such a trooper throughout the whole process. The cure rate for colon cancer is so great. We are believing that this will be the case also.

Mike's dad, Tom, is recovering from his corrective surgery to repair his eye lid and make it easier for the lid to close after his very extensive Melonoma surgery. Most of the feeling on the right side of his face is gone. We are praying also for his strength and fast recovery. Once this is done, Mike's mom, Beverly needs to have a knee replacement. That surgery can not happen until she gets a "thumbs up" from the cardiologist. She must have a stress test, which she can not do the walking on the treadmill one due to her bad knee, so she must do the medically induced one that she is dreading!! Pray specifically that she will have peace with this plan.

Our summer is quickly coming to an end because Drill Team starts in one week from Wednesday. Shelby has joined Taylor on Drill Team. Taylor is not happy about it but she will have to get over it. heehee.

My twins will very quickly turn "18". That is completely impossible!! We are trying to plan something very special. The problem is that drill team is about to over take every day of the next month. :{

Fun and rest to you all,

Kim and Crew

Hi Kim,

It has been a while since I visited your blog and I take a bit of relief after seeing it has been a while for you too! lol

I hope your dad is doing better - I was unaware that he was fighting colon cancer.

When did/do your girls turn 18? Jackie and I had our daughter, Allyson, April 19th and that was back in 1990. How time flies. She graduates this year.

We are all healthy and managing in this aweful economy - things could be much worse so we are counting our blessings from within our heated and well lit abode. :)

Best of the season's to you and your family - I wish you all the best, you are a super person.

Chat later, John Burton
