Day 1...

Shelby went into sugery this morning at 7:40, but the sugerns didn't start the sugery untill 9:00. The entire procedure lasted untill 1:00 this afternoon. My parents finally got to see Shelby around 2:30. They're in a room now and are trying to keep her pain level in control. The Lord has answered some of our prayers. The sugery wasn't as long as originally planed. Please keep praying for quick healing, minnimal pain, and for no complications.

Love, Taylor

For all the Houston Newhouses-
I was very releived to hear of the shortened time in surgery. I know more crucial time is in the recovery: the tiring, almost-get-impatient-time.
I know you are already giving God the glory for all the good things. Also build each other up with words of kindness and appreciation.
Much love, Edna

Dear Shelby,

Way to hang in there! You CAN do this! Everyday will get easier. Just take it one day at a time. God has shown up to meet you yesterday, and we are continuing to call His name for you today, and tonight, and tommorrow, and the next day, and the next... Just know time and the Lord will heal you! If you will let me come "be nurse" for you, I would love to do that. I'll check with your folks. Mike and Kim, let us know how to help. You are still in our prayers, for strength, discernment in her care, and overall peace as she recovers. Love to you all! Gary, Diane and Smith crew.

On behalf of our family, we thank each precious soul that came to the hospital yesterday to be with us. So many came and we had wonderful prayers together for our precious Shelby, and the Drs and nurses. What an amazing God and Father. We saw prayers answered all day as the nurses came out to report to us as the surgery was in process.
Shelby is in a great deal of pain.
Today was a very rough day for her and for Kim. Please keep "lifting them to Him" in prayer and that Shelby's pain will greatly lessen. Kim hasn't left her side and we pray for her strength and her health.
We humbly and gratefully thank each one of you for praying for Shelby and for every act of kindness and concern shown us. What a blessing to be His child. We ask Him to please bless each of you.
The Lord bless you and keep you.

Tom and Bev (PA & MiMi)
