One Month Anniversary haha!

Today is Thursday, Feb 23, and Shelby is still not over this. We have had many discussions with her Dr. about this being something more than a 'rotovirus'. She is feeling a little better but the nausea is not completely gone. She can go several hours and feel great if we do not put anything into her system other than liquids. We are in discussions about bowel obstructions, also a problem that arises from having your spine straightened that puts pressure on the small intestine that in turn causes the small intestine to block it's own blood supply. That condition arises several weeks post op. We really do not think that is it, because Shelby would REALLY be sick. Shelby has not ever done anything by the book though. Yesterday, you could not even touch her tummy. She got in the shower for about one hour hoping to relax her tummy and then her back started hurting. After she got out of the shower, she then started throwing up again. We had a plan of action and a time frame in place that if she was not better by 7:30 or 8:00 pm, we were going to have to take her into the ER, well, at 8:00pm she made movement in the right direction. She was so happy she was able to stay home. This morning, she woke up feeling good, but after she ate breakfast, she was sick again. Now we are back to the beginning. I will keep you posted on our plan for the weekend. Our doctor has really been working with us to try to not have to go to the ER. That would really be torture for Shelby. We will continue to pray for small steps forward. She is taking in larger amounts of fluid at a time and that can only help. Please pray this will all end soon. She has been asking me, 'why is it always her?' Well, you know that makes me cry. Boy, we are a sight!! haa.

Love you all,

Kim

Hi there,

So sorry Shelby. So sorry Mom! Nothing could possibly be worse than seeing your baby suffer. Except being the one suffering huh Shelby! I hate that Shelby is having this set back in her recuperation. We will definately pray SPECIFICALLY for God to take this away and continue a smooth path to complete healing! Please know we are thinking of ya'll and praying daily! Stay strong Mom!
With love, The Morrow's

Shelby,
You are such a tough girl. We are praying for you often. Please know we think about you and pray for your strength and healing. My little boy, Rylan, keeps asking about you and wants to see you. My baby girl, Kyndal, is sick with a stomach virus right now too so when she is better and you are better we will try to visit if that is okay.

Stay strong, You are awesome!!
Amy Schlup

P.S. I am so glad you did not have to go to the ER. We were there (St. Luke's) last night with Kyndal and it was not fun. They were very, very busy.

Still so concerned.
Thank you Kim, for keeping us up to date, although hopefully, the process of writing is cathartic.
Shelby, may you and your family continue to draw strength from you personal faith and may that faith not be defeated.

Edna

Hey guys!

I am hoping that today, with the start of the weekend, everyone is feeling better.

Shelby, God has called you to such a special task--you are a light to everyone. Your "light" truly shines everywhere and on everyone who knows you. Continue to be brave through your suffering...we are praying all the time for you. Do you have the Max Lucado book "The Crippled Lamb"? Probably not in your collection of "teenage" books, but still a good one! Will and I read it all the time and it helps us understand why some people have more suffering than others. When I come see you, I am going to bring it.

You are so lucky that God also gave you such a special family--they are hurting right along with you.

We will continue to pray for each day to be a better day!

Love, LeeAnne G.

Hi Shelby!

It was so good to see you at church yesterday! You looked awesome! We are all so proud of you. You are an amazing girl! I'm sorry we didn't get to hang around and give you a big hug after church. Robyn had a birthday party and we had to leave a little early. Keep getting stronger every day, and you know we'll keep praying. Give your Mom a big hug for me and we're looking forward to bringing dinner! (Although I hear you're booked up through Feb.) How loved you are!
Love, Tiffeny Morrow

Well I wish this was an anniversary day to be celebrating but it seems it has been a long tuff road. Shelby you and your family stay strong and keep your faith. Hopefully this awful stomach stuff you are having will leave you soon and you can get going on the positive side of your recovery. I pray everyday for you and your family. I know how you feel when you say why always me because Hayleigh feels like that lots of times and Kim I can relate to your feelings too and I cry and say whatever we can do for you know that will help you later in life is what we try to do even not always knowing if our decisions are the right ones. That is where the man upstairs steps in and takes over and we leave it in his hands. You Shelby are paving the road for others with the same condition and it takes a strong, beautiful angel as yourself to get through all you have to deal with. You girls are so very special and are what I say are earth angels.
Hang in there all of you and there will be light at the end of this terrible tunnel you are dealing with.
Prayers and hugs,
Jeri-Lynne
