Today we are preparing to travel to Ft. Worth and visit with Dr. Dale Swift on Monday in Dallas. This is an informational visit to prepare our minds for a possible surgery. The surgery would be to implant a Baclofen pump in her abdomen that would pump a muscle relaxant into her spine and she would no longer have to take an oral medication. It would be much more efficient for Shelby and she should not feel sleepy from the medication. Her seizure medication does that enough. We have tried for one month to make an appointment with the surgeon in Corpus and his staff says he will not see us. We live too far away. I was very surprised and told the assistant that, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I would be doing the driving, I didn't think you had any choice in the matter." I also asked for a return call from the doctor and to date we have not heard from him. Imagine that!! Maybe the Lord is trying to tell me something. I can not imagine what. heehee We will update again next week after our trip to Dallas.
We had a great Halloween and the girls were great. Taylor was an Egytian Princess, Shelby was a football player, and Kendall was a clown. We travel our neighboorhood on a trailer and the kids hop off at different homes. The neighborhood is very spread out. We also had dinner at a friend's house and we had a great time. We also stopped at our lake park and did the 'Trunk or Treat' thing.

Hey Kim and family!Hope your visit to the doctor in Dallas went well. I'm looking forward to your update about that when you have time to post one.We did do a trial baclofen on Hayleigh last Oct. and it was a nightmare cuz they overdosed her so all we saw was her sleeping and throwing up so we decided to put the pump on hold for awhile.. Never know if it is the right or wrong decision though..As you all know...
